Going Google

Posted in News by wrdnrdnews on August 6, 2009

google_billboardadvertising is used to promote a product/service and create awareness of that business. There are few businesses that do not advertise frequently and are still enormously lucrative; one of those being Google. Google has rarely advertised and yet they still sit atop the food chain, how is this possible? Well as you probably know Google is perhaps the best company to work for in the world. They take care of their employees and create a fun interactive work environment, therefore, the employees create cutting edge technology and integrated marketing ideas that do not involve the mainstream venues normally used for advertising. Their ideas are so fresh and so clean. Always trying to have the new thing that everyone is talking about Google has now developed their own answer to the Microsoft Office suite called Enterprise. This is a new venture for Google since they normally do not advertise in the billboard medium let alone at all. The campaign is placed along busy highways that traffic mostly professionals on their way to and from work whom would benefit the most from a switch to their new software Enterprise. The copy on the messages pertains to a personal account of their actions from awareness of the Enterprise software to the move made from Microsoft office suite to Enterprise. Since Google barely advertises when they do they immediately have our attention because we think “oh this is Google? well I should probably listen.” They grab our attention so easily because their track record with the public is so astounding that we legitimately care about what they have to say. This is perhaps their best attribute because as we all know most advertising is over looked because the public has become immune to charm at times. Check out the article here!
